TERMS & CONDITIONS

A Kahar Driving School will only use DSA registered driving instructors. Instructors will provide the requisite training as per the DSA syllabus. Training vehicles are provided for the purpose of practical training and for the driving test. Following terms and conditions apply when the training contract is made between the A Kahar Driving and individuals wishing to receive training.

We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Any such changes will take effect when posted on this website and it is your responsibility to read the terms and conditions on each occasion you use this website and your continued use of the website shall signify your acceptance to be bound by the latest terms and conditions.

Training:

Before tuition commences, pupils must:

  • Have paid the booking fees in full
  • Outstanding balance can be paid in advance or on the first day of training (see payment section below for further details)
  • Produce a valid UK or Northern Ireland provisional or full driving license for category b (car). If a photo card license is held, both the plastic license and paper counterpart will need to be produced. A photographic proof of identity will be required with older paper license (e.g.current passport)
  • Produce a valid theory test certificate if applicable. If a theory test needs to be booked as part of a course package then failure to pass that test will preclude the taking of a practical test at the end of the course.
  • Meet the minimum eyesight requirements for drivers, you must be able to read a number plate with letters 79.4 mm high at a minimum distance of 20.5 meters. if you wear glasses or contact lenses you must wear them whenever you drive.
  • A Kahar Driving does not teach on test routes our intension is to train our pupil to drive in any type of road or weather conditions.

Course Booking:

A Kahar Driving assumes that the person booking the course whether for themselves or on someone else’s behalf have the authority to do so. Once the training contract has been signed it can only be cancelled as per the terms and conditions of cancellation given below.

It is responsibility of the person booking the course to select the most appropriate course for their requirement. Assessment session can be arranged at extra cost to help you to make the right decision. Selected course can not be changed once booked and allocated to an instructor. If extra training is deemed necessary by the instructor before taking the test it can be arranged at extra cost.

If the training car does not remain available for any unforeseeable reason, we will endeavour to replace the car but it may not always be possible to arrange exactly same make and model.

Please note we do not require card or account details over the phone or via website for course booking or payments

You must pay the booking fee to reserve the course. Booking fee is non-refundable.

Remaining balance must be paid to the instructor no later than the first day of the commencement of your course.

Full payment will be due after initial booking. Failure to pay the remaining balance will be considered as breach of contract and will be referred to out legal department.

Test Fee / Charges:

If we are required to rebook tests for any reason, we at present charge £35 for a theory test, £70 for a week day practical test, £85 for a weekend practical test.

The price you pay is the course price displayed on this website at the time we receive your booking apart from the following exception: a) whilst we try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the course price you have booked we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your booking at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the booking as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid, you will receive a full refund.

Any toll charges, congestion charges are to paid by the student, in cash to the instructor.

Accommodation:

Company has teamed up with local B&B to provide subsidised rates of accommodation on Residential courses. Upon booking the B&B charge a £10 per night non refundable reservation fee and if the accommodation is cancelled less than 7 days before the course date, B&B is still charged full rate. Booking of Theory and Practical Test:

A Kahar Driving will book the theory and/or practical test at a DSA test centre on student’s behalf nearest to the candidate home address or mutually agreed test centre. Please note that desired test dates are not always available. Tests are booked on available date with agreement of the student and the instructor.

A Kahar Driving school will not be responsible for availability of tests or cancellations by the DSA. Claims for compensation for cancellation should be made directly to the DSA.

Should the DSA cancel a test during the course the course will continue as planned but last day of the training will be completed on the test date.

If you pay for an additional theory test fee we will try to book another theory test before the end of your driving course (note – if this is not possible you will not be able to take a practical driving test at the end of your driving course). .

The pupil will be permitted to use the training car for their driving test provided that the pupil has reached a safe standard of driving as assessed by the instructor.

Conduct:

Pupils must treat A Kahar Driving vehicles with respect and consideration at all times. Any wilful or malicious damage to the vehicle or company property will be charged in full.

Pupils must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at any time during training. if there are signs of alcohol or substance misuse, A Kahar Driving reserve the right to refuse training and use of vehicle for practical driving test until the pupil is in a fit and legal condition to drive. You may be asked to take a random breath test, refusal, or a bac limit of 0.05 or more will immediately terminate that days tuition.

If you have booked a residential course with A Kahar Driving inclusive of hotel accommodation; pupils must maintain the hotel accommodation in an acceptable condition and must pay for any damages or hotel services on the day of departure.

Any abusive conduct, either physical or verbal, towards instructors, staff, hotel staff or other pupils will not be tolerated.

Any motoring offences committed whilst driving one of our vehicles remain the responsibility of the pupil.

Should the pupil fail to reach a satisfactory standard of driving and is likely to be a danger to other road users, or is in an unfit condition through substance or alcohol abuse, the adi has a responsibility to the dsa examiners not to allow the use of the training vehicle for the purpose of the driving test. this is in the interest of the pupil, the examiner and other road users and is a precautionary safety measure. Driving standards agency guidelines do not allow for a pupil to take a practical test just for the experience.

Once you have passed your driving test A Kahar Driving will take your picture with pass certificate, this picture will be used on our website and may be used for advertising purposes. If you wish to opt out please speak to the booking manager.

Cancellations and Refunds:

Refunds can be made only if the course is cancelled more than 28 days of commencement. Any cancellation within 28 days of commencement of course will only be approved by the management on provision of a valid reason with proof (e.g medical reasons)

If the pupil cancels the course for any reason without 28 days notice there will be no refund except for the examination fee.

If the course is cancelled with less than 4 clear working days notice, there will be no refund at all. Any breaches of these terms and conditions may result in the immediate termination of the training course with no refund.
